  • The campus network login is used to access computers on campus
  • Your eLearning login is NOT your CHOL login

Q. I am a new student what is my eLearning username and default password?
  • Your eLearning username is your Student ID Number located on your Student Identification Card just below your name.
  • For students who have never received a password reset your default password is FL@ddmmyy.
  • If you cannot find your Student ID Number please contact Student Affairs.
 
Q. What is FL@ddmmyy?
  • The combination of characters represent your first name and last name initials in upper case (FL), followed by the @ sign then your Date of Birth (ddmmyy)
  • Example for John Brown born 21/05/81 the default password would be JB@210581
 
Q. I cannot remember my password and the default password does not work, what should I do?
  1. Go to https://ssrpm.cavehill.uwi.edu
  2. Click the “Reset Password” button

  3. (This service requires previous enrolment for the SSRPM)
OR
  1. Sit at a computer in one of the Micro Labs.
  2. At the Windows login prompt press Alt+ CTRL+ Del
    You may need to log off the previous user to access the login prompt
  3. Enter your user name (student ID number)
  4. Select forgot my password
  5. Answer your secret questions when prompted at the next window
OR
  • Send a password reset request to ITServiceDesk@cavehill.uwi.edu
  • Password reset requests via email will ONLY be accepted from your mycavehill.uwi.edu account.
  • Unfortunately, it is against our policy to transmit password details to an external email account e.g. Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail etc...
OR
  • Visit the IT Service Desk Booth with your Student ID card between the hours Monday – Friday 8:00 A. M. – 8:00 P.M. and Saturdays 9:00 A.M.– 5:00 P.M.
 
Q. Why do I get invalid login or password expired?
  • By policy your password will automatically expire every 90 days after registration.
  • You are therefore required to change your network password every 90 days.
  • Failure to change your network password every 90 days would result in an invalid login.
 
Q. Can I have my password reset over the telephone?
  • To avoid the possibility of impersonation passwords will NOT be reset over the telephone.
 
Q. Can I have my password reset by emailing the request?
  • Send a password reset request to ITServiceDesk@cavehill.uwi.edu
  • Password reset requests via email will ONLY be accepted from your mycavehill.uwi.edu account.

Q. Can I reset my expired password using a computer in one of the Micro Labs?
  1. Sit at a computer in one of the Micro Labs.
  2. At the Windows login prompt press Alt+ CTRL+ Del
    You may need to log off the previous user to access the login prompt
  3. Enter your user name (student ID number) and the expired password.
  4. You will receive a prompt that your password has expired, click OK.
  5. Enter and confirm your new password.
 
Q. How do I access the mycavehill.uwi.edu email system?
 
Q. How can I reset my password before it expires?
  • Go to https://ssrpm.cavehill.uwi.edu and click on the "Reset your password" link.
  • Please note this service requires previous enrollment with SSRMP; you cannot enroll with an expired password.
OR
  • Sit at a computer in one of the Micro Labs.
  • Login to the computer using your current username and password.
  • Once logged on press Alt+ CTRL+ Del then select Change my password.
  • Enter your old password then enter and confirm your new password.
  • Once your password is about to expire within 14 days each time you login a warning will appear, you can change your password at the warning prompt.
 
Q. What is SSRMP?
  • SSRMP is the online Cave Hill Password Management (CHPM) service. This program will help you reset your password if you have forgotten it. https://ssrpm.cavehill.uwi.edu
 
Q. I entered a wrong password now my account is locked what should I do?
 
Q. I registered for a course but I am not seeing it on eLearning?
  • Verify that you were indeed registered for the course through CHOL.
  • Ensure your enrollment has not been canceled due to outstanding fees.
  • Synchronization between CHOL and eLearning has not occurred, recheck in one (1) hour.
  • We invite you to submit your query via email to ITServiceDesk@cavehill.uwi.edu, please include the following information: your Student ID# , the Course Code and Reference Number (CRN).

Q. I do not know my campus network login, what should I do?
  • As faculty if you do not have a campus network login credential, contact the Human Resources Department.
  • Members of faculty who require temporary login credentials (e.g. temporary staff or staff from affiliated institutions) should have their Head of Department send a request to myelearning@cavehill.uwi.edu
 
Q. I forgot my password what should I do?
  • Allow your AA/Secretary to call the IT Service Desk directly to request the reset on your behalf.
  • Allow your AA/Secretary to log an incident via http://helpdesk.cavehill.uwi.edu on your behalf.
  • Allow your AA/Secretary to send an email to the itservicedesk@cavehill.uwi.edu to request reset on your behalf.
  • Call the IT Service Desk from a campus telephone line directly to have a password reset.
    Note: Account information is not given to callers from external telephone lines.
  • Visit the IT Service whit your Staff ID card to have a password reset.
 
Q. How can I reset my expired password?
  • When your password has expired you can reset your password using Office Outlook Web Acccess at https://mail.cavehill.uwi.edu
  • Once the page has loaded follow the steps below.
  1. Enter your user name and current password.
  2. Ensure “I want to change my Password after logging on” is selected.
  3. Now click the Log on button.
  4. You will then be prompted to enter and confirm your new password.
OR
  1. Sit at a computer on campus.
  2. At the Windows login prompt press Alt+ CTRL+ Del
    You may need to log off the previous user to access the login prompt.
  3. Enter your user name (staff ID number) and the expired password.
  4. You will receive a prompt that your password has expired, click OK.
  5. Enter and confirm your new password.

Q. I entered a wrong username and password combination more than 3 times now my account is locked what should I do?
  • Account locks are temporary; you could wait for half hour and try again with the correct username and password combination.
  • If you cannot remember the correct username and password combination request a password reset.
 
Q. I am assigned to a course but I am not seeing it on eLearning?
  • Submit your query via email to myelearning@cavehill.uwi.edu, please include the following information: your Staff ID#, the Course Code and Reference Number (CRN).
